CZ PRES Conference on victims’ rights October 13 – 14 2022, Prague

On the Occasion of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU, the Probation and Mediation Service of the Czech Republic held a conference on victims’ rights, in the context of restorative justice and probation services.

The main line of the conference was the victims, and it focused on the possibilities of working with them, on their position from the point of view of the probation service, and on their position in European law. At the plenary session the representatives of the Czech Ministry of Justice, the Czech Probation and Mediation Service, the European Forum for Restorative Justice, the Confederation of the European Probation, the Council of Europe, and the European Network on Victims’ Rights presented their views on the victim’s position in restorative justice and probation service. Moreover, the representative of the European Commission presented the implementation of the EU Strategy on victims’ rights and the revision of the Victims’ Rights Directive. The workshops introduced the procedures for working with specific victims, and examples of good practice from different parts of Europe.

The event was supported by European Forum for Restorative Justice (EFRJ) Confederation of European Probation (CEP) European Network for Victims’ Rights (ENVR).
